Sikkim Peak Founder and Managing Director Madan Gurung has nearly 20 years of experience as a trekking and tour guide, and was named Best Tourist Guide by Sikkim’s Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation in 2007 and 2009.
Born and bred in Yuksom, Madan knows the area like the back of his hand and melds his passion for the mountains and his home by starting Sikkim Peak. Yuksom is the first capital of Sikkim and the trailhead to the renowned Dzongri Goechala Trek. Madan actively promotes village and organic tourism in Sikkim and plays a vital role in training and nurturing the next generation of professional tourism providers in India. He also conducts annual industrial and on-the-job training for tourism students from other Indian states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Mizoram and Punjab. He pioneered the Yuksam Tourism Development Committee, which is instrumental in promoting responsible tourism locally.

Privately owned and registered with the Government of Sikkim and recognized by Sikkim Tourism, Sikkim Peak is also a member of the Travel Agent's Association of Sikkim (TAAS), The Sikkim Ornithology Society and The Yuksam Tourism Development committee. Madan holds the post of an advisor at TAAS.
